Road work on CO HWY 116 to Town of Two Buttes

HWY 116 to Tot the Town of Two Buttes undergoing road work until Thursday evening according to the workmen at the scene. If traveling to the Town of Two Buttes via that road today or tomorrow you may encounter a bit of a wait while a pilot car escorts traffic across the newly graveled road. Work is expected to be completed on Thursday.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife has secured a contract with the state and work has begun on the spillway. Access to Black Hole is still blocked off and they will need volunteers with heavy equipment down the road to repair the Black Hole.

Will Colorado Democrats Survive Gun Control Legislation?

Governor Hickenlooper was in Springfield on August 13th and spoke to a small group at the Resource center. The Governor apposes capitol punishment, particularly for a criminal who a has a mental disorder. He explained his reasons and defended his unpopular decision not to execute convicted mass murderer Nathan Dunlap. He mentioned that the murderer (Dunlap) had a severe Bi-Poler disorder, although he would not mention Dunlap by name. Hickenlooper clearly feels it is not right to execute mass murderers with mental disorders.
