Hello all: AUTUMN ART SHOW IN LAMAR
Entries for the Autumn Art Show will be taken on Saturday, October 22 from 9a.m. – 12 noon. Again the show will be locate at the Shore Art Center, downtown Lamar. Pat Johnson is again in charge. Marilyn Gentz and Dorothy Buxton will assist her. The rules, awards and prizes at this time have not changed.
The panels will be set up on Saturday during entries. Vincent Gearhart will be in charge. Jeff Alexander will assist. We could use some more help there. Leonard Pruett has moved and he always graciously assisted us. Jeremy Cooper has had surgery on his shoulder and will not be able to help. Vincent is also in charge of the PR work and has already started working with his daughter to get posters printed for us to hang up. As soon as we have those I will let you know. Please offer to take some and hang them in you community.
Show hanging will take place following entries on Saturday. We could use some volunteers especially if you have been involved with hanging before.
Judging will take place on Sunday, October 23rd. Time still to be determined but 9:00 is a good time to start. Dorothy Buxton and Jennie Dooley will serve on the judging committee. At this time the plan is to do a walk through on Saturday night before the judge is treated to dinner. More info to follow on the judge and what the judge can offer such as a critique, demo etc.
Awards will be hung on Monday, October 24th. Jeff Alexander will again be taking care of the awards as well as the show info and entry information we will be sending out to all artists in the near future. Please watch your email as we will send out to all who we have email addresses for to save on postage. We could use some assistance on hanging the awards on Monday evening.
Show is open to the public Tuesday, October 25 – Thursday, October 27 th. Exact times to be open are still to be determined. Please think about volunteering to sit with the show.
Wine and Cheese reception will be on October 27th from 6 – 8:00 p.m. during the Lamar Moonlight Madness event.
Awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m. and check out will take place at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27th.
Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 15th at 5:30 p.m. here in the SECED office located at 112 West Elm.
If you would like to help, please let me know and I can see that we make that happen.
We will also be sending out personal invites to business people and other parties that might not be aware we are having our show. Please get us names and addresses if you want someone invited to the reception.
