All Artists are invited to enter the annual fall art show. To encourage greater participation we are offering cash awards for Best-of-Show, First Place in each the five categories listed below; Area Award for best depiction of a landmark within a 100-mile radius of Lamar (a statement must be attached to the wire or base of the work); Popular Choice Award, and President’s Choice Award. Certificates are awarded for first, second, third, and honorable mention for each category and each division (if any) of the categories. There are no cash awards for first places in the subdivisions of the five categories (if any). Rules and Procedures

Original works not previously entered in a SECAG Autumn Art Show. Works will be displayed and judged according to the following categories: 1. Painting, 2. Artisan Works, 3. Drawing & Prints, 4. Photography, 5. Three-Dimensional. Please note: Categories will be sub-judged in subdivisions when five or more works are entered (ex. oil, china painting, etc.).
Student Category: A student category is available for artists who wish to enter their work for competition with others of similar age and experience level. Student entry fee is reduced to $10 for 3 pieces and $5 for one additional piece. Students may choose to register with regular entries for show prizes but must pay full registration. Student qualification – 21 years of age or less, attending school with a current student ID.
Registration: In-person submission of entries will be Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shore Arts Center, 115 Main Street, Lamar. Registration is $30 for one to three (1-3) entries. One additional entry can be registered for $5.
Entered works must remain on view for the duration of the exhibition and must be picked up on Thursday, October 27 immediately after 8:00 p.m. unless special arrangements are made at registration and entry time.
Membership: The registration fee automatically includes the cost of the following year’s membership in the Southeast Colorado Art Guild. All members will receive notice of meetings, workshops, and programs. Members are encouraged to participate. Sale of Art Entries: While entries not for sale (NFS) will be displayed, artists are encouraged to offer their art for sale. Payment for works sold will be made at the end of the show, and sold works cannot be removed before that time. A 20% commission is retained by the Guild.

Delivery & Pick-Up: entries will be brought in on Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to the Shore Arts Center, 115 Main Street, Lamar. Entries may be shipped to Jeff Alexander, 706 East Cedar Street, Lamar, CO 81052, on or before Friday, October 14. Return shipping will incur a shipping and handling fee. Arrangements can be made by contacting Jeff Alexander at 719-336-4780. When pre-arrangements are made and Thursday (Oct. 27) pick-up is not possible, entries will be safely stored until they can be picked up or shipped to the owner.
Installation Requirements: All entries must be ready for installation, and presented professionally. This applies to student entries also. If special handling or installation is required, please include instructions. All framed works must have picture wire attached so that the point of hanging is slightly below the top of the picture.
Works, other than sculpture, cannot exceed 60” (5 feet) in any one direction or weigh more than 60 pounds. All entries must meet acceptable community standards. The guild reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason.
Miniature Exhibit: All exhibiting artists are invited to submit works for sale for no more than $50, and no larger than 8” X 10” (or 7” square). Two-dimensional works must be framed. Packaged Greeting cards may also be included in the sale. These works will not be judged and no commission will be charged.
Public Viewing: Tuesday-Thursday, October 25–27: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. A wine and cheese reception will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Shore Art Center. Awards will be given out at 7:30, prior to checkout. For this reception, anyone under 21 yrs. old must be accompanied by an adult.
